Capscan are leading providers of address management software and geodemographic data and services. Capscan’s products are deployed across a wide range of industry services, including the Royal Mail. They are also an official agency for the 1991 Census of Population and Ordnance Survey data sets and accredited Value Added Resellers for the Royal Mail Databases. This relationship, and their expertise in data compression, database design and large scale information retrieval systems, led to the joint development in 1994 of Cenario, a census analysis system (an updated version is planned for the 2001 census). In addition to supplying address data for over 26 million addresses in the UK, Capscan also has access to the full Electoral Roll, telephone numbers, map co-ordinates and a host of other geodemographic and lifestyle data sets. Europe-wide coverage involving a joint venture with Uniserve, a German company operating in a similar field, was launched in early 2000. |

Travel InfoSystems products include RailPlanner for planning journeys on the UK national railways and Eurostar trains as well as TubePlanner – the complete journey planner for the London Underground system. More recently Travel InfoSystems have developed true multi-modal products for London and other cities in the UK (incorporating bus, train, tram etc. information) and a national coach journey planner. Travel InfoSystems process timetable information for Network Rail and provide the journey planning software for London Underground. |
