A new year, a new look for Justis.comThe first quarter of 2005 is marked by change at Context with several interesting new developments taking place. The first of these developments is the re-launch of the Justis user interface with a brand new look. Although the service functionality will remain the same, several improvements have been made to the appearance to enhance the user experience. After consideration of customer feedback, one noticeable change is with the general navigation buttons across the top of the Justis screen. These buttons have been enlarged and simplified and the email, print and download buttons have been moved closer to the document to enhance visibility.

Another improvement is the addition of a Justis to JustCite toggle button that will allow users to switch from one service to the other. When users view a document on the document screen within Justis and click the JustCite button, they will be redirected through to JustCite. Here they will be able to view the relevant case details including the subject matter, parallel citations, previous and subsequent cases, statutory material and more. When viewing any other page inside the Justis user interface, clicking the toggle button will direct users to the main JustCite search page. New product literature, screenshots and additional information regarding the new look Justis service will be available. Should you wish to receive this information, please email victoria.maclean@context.co.uk to let us know. New Titles added on Justis.comContext will be adding three new CCH Tax Law Series available for subscription on Justis.com:
The CCH British Tax Cases is the reproduction of the full text of judgments reported during the tax year in cases heard in the various courts: High Court; Scottish Court of Session; Court of Appeal; House of Lords; Judicial Committee of the Privy Council; European Court of Justice (selected rulings). Each case has a headnote outlining the facts, the decision and the reasons for the decision. The British VAT cases is a collection of the decisions of the VAT & Duties Tribunals dealing with appeals arising from decisions of HM Customs & Excise and the Special Commissioners Decisions. These cases outline appeals arising from decisions of the Inland Revenue and the Financial Services & Markets Tribunal, which deals with matters relating to certain decisions of the Financial Services Authority. The British Tax Cases, the VAT Cases and the Special Commissioners Decisions are cross-referenced, can be searched together with other Justis titles such as the Law Reports and the Weekly Law Reports, and will be available in early quarter two of this year. Title TalkFamily Law Reports (Jordan Publishing): This title is available on CD-ROM and online through Justis.com. Spanning 1980 to present, the most authoritative law reports covering family and child law are edited by a panel of the country’s leading family lawyers. Every important family and child law case is reported from all levels of court. The CD-ROM version also includes Family Law Reprints – a collection of frequently cited cases prior to 1980. For more information please contact the sales team on 020 7284 8080. JustCite NewsJustCite is our sophisticated citator service and legal directory that allows users to search for case law and legislation references and link to the full text on multiple sources including Justis, Lexis, Westlaw and Casetrack. A new feature for JustCite subscribers is a facility to customise full text links. Without customisation, all links to the full-text of documents on various websites are active, but with customisation, subscribers can now stop their users from selecting services to which they do not currently subscribe. Furthermore, customisation allows subscribers to direct users to preferred services. This will allow users to access subscription titles directly and avoid confusion and additional per use costs incurred on some legal information websites. Users will get the necessary information quickly and easily with the first click of the mouse. Another useful enhancement of the JustCite service is the JustCite search box. The JustCite search box allows users to search the database from a convenient location such as their intranet or website and is available to everyone, not just subscribers to the service. For those users that do not subscribe, the search results generated by the search box will provide you with a brief overview of the information about the referenced document. Alternatively, subscribers to the service are provided with a full detailed outline including preceding and subsequent cases or legislation. Try it below: The search box is available free of charge by emailing victoria.maclean@context.co.uk News “In Brief”The English Reports are now available to search on JustCite. The series is the oldest collection of the most authoritative, comprehensive law reports in publication. It offers over 100,000 of the most important cases reported between 1220 and 1865 compiled into one comprehensive collection. The English Reports are an indispensable resource to all commonwealth barristers and solicitors.
